Nithio is a venture-backed finance and data analytics platform that uses AI and machine learning techniques to improve credit scoring capabilities for businesses, capital providers, governments, and other stakeholders in the distributed renewable energy sector across Africa. The company is currently in rapid growth mode and aims to address the acute need for universal clean energy access on the continent by providing a sustainable infrastructure for capital delivery and by offering state-of-the-art credit underwriting software.
 
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP & A) Analyst / Manager will be a member of the Finance Team responsible for providing financial insights, projections & reliable data and analysis to the Finance Team to be used in decision-making and planning. You will prepare (and own) accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.
 
The position is emphatically focused on business performance, operations and corporate finance. Therefore, the candidate will have the opportunity to be closely involved in business, operations and strategy from a finance point of view, as the FP&A input forms a key pillar in any of the quantitative strategic decisions Nithio takes.
 
Summary of Position
The successful candidate will have experience in finance and operations, including developing & maintaining financial models, reports & metrics. Ideally the candidate has specific experience in previous FP&A roles. Responsibilities
Depending on the fit and profile of potential candidates, the role can be set up as Analyst or Manager position. Indicative, the range of duties will be including, but not limited to, the following:
      Provide FP&A support related to financial planning, reporting, productivity, and metrics
      Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions
      Partner with other departments & teams to develop metrics, goals & business reviews
      Serve as a liaison for the investor relations team, manage scenario modeling, including executive presentation, Q&A support, and ad hoc analysis
      Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights across Nithio
      Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization
      Work with external partners and investors to deliver insights (in performance) and help create & pitch new opportunities to jointly develop
      Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made
      Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
      Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
The FP&A Analyst will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, while also working closely together with the Head of Capital Formation & Investor Relations.
 
Qualifications

      Bachelor’s/Master’s in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or in a related field)
      3-5 years of work experience (Analyst), or 5-8 years’ work experience (Manager) in (operational) finance, FP&A, investments, accounting, investor relations and/or capital raising (within a financial sales environment)
      Excellent financial and quantitative skills with deep knowledge and experience in financial modeling
      Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
      Preferably experience with QuickBooks & NetSuite
      Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated
      Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
      Superior problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively
      Proven ability to successfully prioritize multiple, competing priorities with strong attention to detail
      Ability to advance discrete projects both independently and as part of a small team
      Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively within a distributed team & with external stakeholders
