Position Summary

Terabase offers a range of measurement and control solutions that enables accurate data acquisition and effective management of utility scale solar power plants. We are seeking a Project Manager for the SCADA projects to join our team and serve as the point of contact for our strategic customers. The PM-OT is responsible for the successful delivery, adoption, and value realization for the products and services our customers have purchased.

The SCADA Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) projects from initiation to completion. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, technical teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that SCADA systems are implemented, tested, and delivered effectively and efficiently within scope, time, and budget constraints. The SCADA Project Manager will also lead project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and client communications to drive successful outcomes.

This position is nominally based in Berkeley, California but the right candidate may be able to work remotely from other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, schedule, budget, and resources for SCADA projects. Manage project lifecycle stages from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, facilitating clear and effective communication throughout project phases.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Adjust project plans as necessary to respond to changes and address risks.

  • Budget Management: Monitor and control project costs to ensure projects stay within budget. Prepare cost estimates, track expenses, and work with finance teams to report on financial status.

  • Quality Control: Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards. Oversee testing and validation of SCADA systems, addressing issues and ensuring performance requirements are met.

  • Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives. Provide direction, delegate tasks, and facilitate collaboration.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and change orders. Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and issues.

  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that SCADA projects adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Work with engineering teams to maintain regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline

  • 1+ years in relevant role

  • Project engineering, procurement, or management experience

  • Comfortable providing technical presentations to peers, customers, and leadership regarding the details of technical issues.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness working with remote teams and clients.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Experience managing complex projects delivering against deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PM Certified

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline

  • Experience with Solar industry

  • Experience working with SCADA systems, grid controllers, and weather measurement stations.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP

  • Familiar with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint

Skills

  • Leadership and ability to motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional time management and prioritization abilities.

  • Technical understanding of SCADA systems and control engineering.

  • Budget and financial tracking expertise.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher) dependent on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
