About Tyba

Tyba provides bidding and project simulation software for companies building and operating renewable energy and storage projects. Our customers use our modeling software for critical decision-making, from the early-stage siting of power plants to the daily operations of energy storage and renewable projects in wholesale power markets. We support the energy transition by helping our customers build and operate more profitable projects, and we measure our success by the MWs deployed and operated by our customers.

We are looking for team members who love working directly with customers on technical problems and are eager to shape the culture of a collaborative and fast-growing team. You will join a team with deep experience in modeling, software development, and energy backed by leading investors in the climate, energy, and software sectors. We have offices in Los Angeles, Oakland, and remote team members across the US.

The role

As Tyba's first analyst, you will be responsible for building a new function within the company to support our customers as they apply our models to their business needs. Crucial to this is working with our customers to understand their business needs, educating them on how we add value, and identifying areas where we can continuously improve. Given the technical nature of our product, you will be working closely with both commercial and engineering staff to tailor solutions to specific customer needs and functional roles. You will also need to be fluent in wholesale power and energy production concepts and quantitative methods such as optimization, forecasting, and statistical analysis.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understanding existing and prospective customers’ modeling needs and developing ways to apply Tyba’s models to uplevel their workflows.
  • Informing ongoing model/product development efforts, including price forecasting, dispatch optimization, and bidding models in collaboration with Tyba’s engineering teams.
  • Supporting all stages of Tyba’s sales and onboarding process, including content marketing, technical sales support, and onboarding/implementation.

Skills and experience:

  • At least two years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role in the energy sector, such as trading, consulting, or performance engineering.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including in Excel, Python, and API-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with wholesale power markets and generation resources.
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to distill complex commercial, financial, and technical considerations into compelling presentations and training sessions.
